Plant a seed and watch it grow

Late last year the Bishop Johnson preached a sermon on increase, prosperity and tithing. Where a lot of folks think giving away money is NOT the way to get money they, are often wrong. Ever hear, “in business you gotta spend money to make money?” While tithing is not necessarily about spending money it is about your investment in your faith, your future. Faith without action is useless. How do you know your outcome is going to be positive? How do you know that your efforts will produce any fruit of your labor? Faith, people plus action!

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase”- Martin Luther King.

After pledging to increase my tithes (yes, he was talking to me about lagging behind) something happened. I was/am getting money from everywhere. “It’s not raining men it’s raining money!” Why you ask?   Because, I believe God’s promise and I became committed to do better and be better. First, I won the football pool (YAY!) then my Dad had a windfall and shared with me, then my friend dropped a few bills my way (all unsolicited I might add.) The next week and every week after that I have had money come my way. From my twin son’s tutor I received unexpected birthday money and then another monetary gift in the mail. It’s been like this ever since I made the declaration of increase in my life and backed that with the commitment to improved tithing. Get on board people; make a real investment in your faith. Let God do his work to improve not just your finances but your life. “ I accept nothing less , than the best increase, favor, overflow all three are alright with me.”

 Let it rain!

  1. Yes. I’ve been in church all my life and it’s unfortunate that a lot of people don’t understand Kingdom principles. They choose to remain in debt; Doing Everything But Tithing! I’m glad that you heard what Bishop was saying….
    Good job, Mell!
